Quarantine Life: Day 21, Grocery Delivery/Pick-Up Services

Quarantine Life: Day 21, Grocery Delivery/Pick-Up Services

I wrote in our Day 14 blog post about our first experience ordering groceries from Amazon Fresh. I also promised that I would share information about local businesses that offer grocery delivery and pick-up services. This is obviously not an exhaustive list, so please feel free to share any other businesses in the comments section. It’s more important now than ever to support our Bay Area businesses.

Golden Gate Organics offers local, organic produce that can be delivered once or twice a week.

If you love cheese (and who doesn’t?) treat yourself while doing some good for others by ordering the Cowgirl Creamery Good Neighbors Collection. Cowgirl Creamery is offering its Good Neighbors Collection of award-winning cheeses for $100 with free shipping and a $10 donation included to provide emergency food relief to communities affected by COVID-19.

Draeger’s is another Bay Area institution founded in San Francisco. It has since expanded to locations in San Mateo, Menlo Park, Blackhawk, and Los Altos. You can have Draeger’s groceries delivered by Instacart.

Inc. 82 Brewing is a Dublin-based brewpub that is offering food and beer to go, as well as groceries for pickup. You can check out their available grocery products here. I see meat, fruits, vegetables, bread, and even toilet paper.

Lunardi’s was founded in San Francisco in 1953 and now has eight Bay Area locations in Belmont, Burlingame, Danville, Los Gatos, San Bruno, San Jose (two locations) and Walnut Creek. Lunardi’s offers home delivery through Instacart.

Pete’s Brass Rail is a restaurant in Danville known for its good food and extensive beer list. While Pete’s offers beer and food for take-out now, it also offers grocery items for pick up.

Bonus Resource

Windmill Farms is a San Ramon institution. This family-owned farmers market is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Although I don’t think Windmill Farms offers delivery or pick-up services that I know of, it’s a great business that deserves support.

This daily blog post series is our way of sharing our experience with you, our readers. We’ll talk about our daily routines, adjustments to working from home, recipes based on limited ingredients and any other topic that comes to mind. It’s our way of connecting with the “outside” world, while also giving us the opportunity to look within and reflect on what we’re experiencing and how we’re feeling. Thanks for your interest in sharing this journey with us. Stay tuned and be well.
