Maybe next time.

At one point in our lives, we usually get asked the question, "What would you do if you won the lottery?" It's a simple question that often elicits responses such as, "I would buy a mansion," or "I would buy the luxury car I've always wanted," or "I would quit my job and travel all over the world." The last response is probably closest to my heart, but lately I think my answer would honestly be very different.

I only got one number out of six with my lotto ticket. Maybe next time.
I bought a lotto ticket on Tuesday, as I occasionally do when the jackpot's big enough [as if the usual $6 million is not enough]. I made sure to buy a ticket because the Mega Million lottery jackpot for Tuesday was $115 million!!! I thought to myself, even if I don't win the whole $115 million I would still be happy. If I had to share the jackpot with another winner, that would be ok too. What if I didn't hit the big jackpot, but instead only got 5 of the numbers? I could live with $100 grand.

Instead of wondering what I would buy if I won the $115 million jackpot, I began thinking about the minimum amount of money to make me happy. I know money can't buy happiness, but it would certainly relieve the headaches of so many people with financial burdens. I think of money as expensive Tylenol.

So how much would it take to make this headache of mine go away? I think I'd be happy just to pay off my $10,000 student loan. Not bad. Although, if I did win the $115 million I think I might be able to think of some fun ways to use it! [books, travel, 50 million cups of milk tea, House Seasons 1-6 on DVD, etc]
