When I started my UK visa application process last week I found out that I had to book a "biometrics" appointment. On a side note, the word "biometrics" makes me think of futuristic robots running a completely green and human-free world. Anyhoo, a biometrics appointment is where they take your headshot and fingerprints for their records.
I made the appointment for 11 this morning at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office in North Beach. My dad was nice enough to drive me and we got there about 10 minutes early. We found the perfect parking spot right in front of the office and fed the meter for about an hours worth of time. I stepped in and was taken care of right away. I got my picture and fingerprints taken and I was out the door before 11!
Way to go, USCIS! I thought that my appointment would take at least an hour, and unlike with my appointments at the DMV and my occasional trips to the post office, I was pleasantly surprised. Yay! I just might get my visa on time afterall!
