Best Day Ever

Today was  my day. I knew it the moment I got up this morning. It was already a great start. I was on duty last night and I didn't get a single call. So I woke up this morning fresh as a daisy. Then, the weather was gorgeous. Sunny skies, not too hot, but with a nice breeze.

Once I got to class, I found it had been cancelled. With a few extra hours on my hands, I decided I would bake a cake to celebrate the 2 hour Grey's Anatomy season premier. I bought a few ingredients at Outtakes and Lucky. After a few little uh-oh moments in the kitchen concerning the cake not being cooked all the way through, I just stuck it back in the oven for another few minutes and it turned out fine.

Then, I wandered over to Golden Gate Park to help Rebecca with her video production project. We spent about half an hour at the carousel and I even got to ride it (check that off list). The music was cool. Dean Martin's "Ain't That a Kick in the Head" and Wayne Newton's "Danke Shane."

I rode the frog. I named him Barnaby.

After that, we just sat in the children's playground eating Pocky sticks.

When I got back to campus, I headed over the Knitting for Neighbors with Sarah. It's the knitting club at school. You show up and they have a whole suitcase full of yarn you can use. You can knit whatever you want and then you donate it to local charities. If you knit something and you decide you want to keep it, you can. Just replace the yarn. They even teach knitting and crocheting to beginners. Cool people.

At about 7:30, I went to one of our hall programs, celebrating Mexican culture. There were free margaritas and chips and avocado dip.

9:00pm. Grey's Anatomy! I had a few people stop by my room and watch for a bit. I love how we yelled and gasped at the same parts! Favorite character of the week: Yang. "That's my icicle." She's awesome.
