This dance scene "Cheek to Cheek", from the 1935 Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers masterpiece "Top Hat", is probably one of my favorite scenes from any movie. This is when I first fell in love with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.
Of course, whenever anyone of us watch an Astaire-Rogers dance number, our eyes are glued to Fred Astaire. We can't help but fall in love with his signature grace and charm. But once in a while, I like to look at the expression that Ginger Rogers has when Fred sings to her and takes her in his arms. She makes every girl believe that dancing with Fred Astaire is the most magical experience ever.
My favorite part is when he dramatically dips her (4:31). Who wouldn't want to be swept off her feet by Fred Astaire? All I know is that "It's heaven. I'm in heaven and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak and I seem to find the happiness I seek" when I get to watch them dancing cheek to cheek.
