Spring Break, Part I

Here are some pictures I've taken over the past couple of weeks while visiting family friends in Germany. They were nice enough to drive me around neighboring countries as well. Here are some I took in Strasbourg, Luxembourg, and Metz.

Strasbourg, in northeastern France, is the seat of the European Union and the European Parliament. We had a great time looking at the beautiful cathedral, Notre Dame de Strasbourg. We also took a nice walk along the river and strolled past the shops and sidewalk cafes.

Luxembourg is a landlocked country bordered by France, Belgium, and Germany. We visited the city of Luxembourg, which was very international. Every group of people we passed seemed to speak a different langauge. We also visited the Chocolate Company, a cafe that specializes in hot chocolate. You just pick a chocolate covered spoon from their shelf, with flavors ranging from plain milk chocolate to vanilla caramel. Next, the waitress brings you a steaming cup of milk. All you have to do is dip the spoon into the milk and watch as it turns into a lovely cup of hot chocolate!

Metz is a beautiful city in northeastern France and the capital of the Lorraine region. It is home to the famous St. Etienne Cathedral, which features stained glass windows by Marc Chagall.
