Bonjour!
Sadly, that's about all I know how to say in French. My friends and I arrived here in Paris yesterday afternoon. We decided that a little trip to Paris would be nice before going home for Christmas. We're spending the next few days here at a really cool youth hostel, and we've really been running around Paris trying to make the most of our stay.
I think one of the best parts of the trip so far is...snow! I heard that it hasn't snowed in Paris this time of year in a while. It's been snowing steadily since last night and we have a pretty decent blanket of the white stuff covering the whole city. Believe it or not, it was my first time seeing snow. Well, I've been to the mountains and I've seen the snow already on the ground, but it is my first time seeing it actually snowing. I'll have to say, it's awesome!
My friends and I spent the early part of the afternoon walking around the Louvre Museum. I had only been there once before (in October), so it was really nice getting a second look at everything. Then we met up with one of our friends who is a native Parisian. He showed us around the Luxembourg Gardens, his high school, and Sorbonne. Everything is so beautiful. We finished the afternoon eating crepes and sipping hot cocoa at a fabulous cafe.
Then we walked down the Christmas-lit Champs-Elysees with it's posh shops and Christmas market stalls. It was quite beautiful. This trip has been amazing so far and we still have three days to go!
I'll definitely share pictures when I get home. Au revoir!
