Aren't We Entitled to Our Obsessions?
I was at my local 711 today, paying for my usual Slurpee at the counter when I something caught my eye. The piercing blue eyes and the adorably mischievous smile hidden under the unmistakable scruffy beard-- it was HOUSE! More precisely, it was
Hugh Laurie as Dr. House on the cover of TV Guide. Without even leafing through the magazine, I snatched it up and quickly paid for it. It has three glorious pages dedicated to an interview with Hugh Laurie about the upcoming season of House.
Dear reader, in case you didn't know by now, I am in love with House. I'm in love with House M.D. the show, with Dr. House the character and with Hugh Laurie who plays him. There's just something irresistibly intriguing about this lonely misanthropic character who hides his vulnerability behind a devil-may-care facade.
I've actually only started watching the medical drama in the middle of its fifth season, last December. I have since caught up by borrowing the first four seasons on DVD from my local library. [As a side note, go check out your local library. There are tons of treasures awaiting to be discovered...for FREE!]
The show's season finale in May ended with House checking himself into a mental asylum after realizing that he has been hallucinating due to his addiction to Vicodin. The two hour season six premier picks up where last season's finale left off. We get to see how House copes with life in the institution. It airs Monday night on Fox at 8 pm. Come Monday, grab a carton of Ben & Jerry's and meet me in front of the TV!
Don't judge me
