Frowners are Downers
My dad, sister and I had lunch at a sandwich shop today and the lady working behind the corner had one of the meanest faces I've ever seen. She must have been having a bad day (or a bad decade) because she had this incredibly harsh frown cemented on her face. My dad felt so bad for her that he subtly started humming the song "Smile" for her as he paid at the cashier. Hopefully she knew the lyrics.
Smile
by Charlie Chaplin, John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though its breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, youll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
Youll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
Thats the time you must keep on trying
Smile, whats the use of crying?
Youll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
Thats the time you must keep on trying
Smile, whats the use of crying?
Youll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
Smile even though its breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, youll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
Youll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
Thats the time you must keep on trying
Smile, whats the use of crying?
Youll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
Thats the time you must keep on trying
Smile, whats the use of crying?
Youll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
