Latest obsession: Green thumb? Not quite.
A few weeks ago Karina, Christine and I were browsing the dollar bin at Target where we found miniature plant growing kits. For a dollar you get a mini clay pot, a cake of dry soil and a packet of seeds. They had strawberries, lavender and a few other varieties of flowers. We each bought one.
I picked the strawberry because I bought one last year and it died before it matured. It was kind of sad actually. It was my first attempt at growing something from a seed. I planted it January 18th of last year and I was so excited when little sprouts started popping through the soil by February. I watered it every day, making sure to do it one drop at a time because the sprouts were still so small and delicate. One day, a drop of water hit the sprout at a wrong angle and it toppled over. It just fell on its side and uprooted itself. I tried to pick it up and replant it, but it never recovered.
Now is my chance to redo everything and get this plant to live. I just planted it today so hopefully it will turn out better this time.
