Kindness #3: A little holiday cheer

Act of Kindness #3:

Today I'm going to thank a couple of people who went out of their way to help me. This week Saint Ignatius Institute and University Ministry are having free showings of favorite holiday movies for the entire campus. So far we've shown "A Christmas Story," "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Elf."

Tonight I was put in charge of showing the movie. Of course I picked the James Stewart 1946 classic, "It's a Wonderful Life." I still can't watch that movie without tearing up a bit. But that's beside the point. We had a turnout of about 20 people. That's pretty good for USF on a Wednesday night.

We have our movie showings in a theater-style classroom with a digital projector. So here's today's act of kindness: I had never used the school's projection equipment before but a couple of my friends volunteered their Wednesday night to helping with it and they even stayed to watch the movie. One of them, Luke, even got to the classroom early to set up. My friend Kyrstin, volunteered to help me even though she has a terrible cold. For that, I wanted to say thank you.
